The 5th Meeting of Asian National Cancer Centers Alliance (ANCCA)
5TH MEETING OF ASIAN NATIONAL CANCER CENTERS ALLIANCE (ANCCA) TO BE HELD IN GOYANG, KOREA IN MARCH 3, 2014
Representatives from the following National Cancer Centers in Asia, deeply concerned about the growing cancer threat to the Asian people due to the rapid aging and high smoking rate of the population in the region, mindful of the Asia’s higher prevalence of such types of cancer as stomach, lung, and uterine cervix. Recognizing that a wide range of cooperative activities are necessary among the National Cancer Centers in Asia to prevent, early detect and effectively treat cancer, and also to promote the quality of life and palliative care for cancer patients and their families. The National Cancer Center, Korea will hold the 5th meeting of the Asian National Cancer Centers Alliances (ANCCA) consisting of the 14 representative of the National Cancer Centers in Asia at the National Cancer Center, Korea, on March 3, 2014.
The ANCCA was established in 2005, and in the same year, the “1st ANCCA Meeting” was held in Korea. It’s been 9 years since we held the first meeting, and in the 5th meeting in 2014, the honoured guests including gurus in cancer-related fields and founding members will participate this upcoming meeting.
Besides, there will be the opening ceremony of the Graduate School of Cancer Science and Policy (GCSP) on the same day as this meeting. The GCSP offers master’s degree programs in Cancer Control Policy and System Cancer Science. The GCSP offers a full-tuition scholarship for newly accepted candidates. All classes are provided in English.
